Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide analytics information to website operators.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies (always on, no consent required):
Authentication session tokens — required to keep you logged in. Without these the Service cannot function. These expire when you log out or after 30 days of inactivity.
Functional cookies (optional, enabled by default after consent):
App preference storage — your theme (light/dark), language setting, and dismissed banners. Stored in localStorage rather than traditional cookies; cleared when you delete account data.
Analytics cookies (optional, off by default):
PostHog analytics — anonymous usage tracking (page views, feature interactions) to help us improve the product. Only activated after you give explicit consent via the cookie banner or Settings > Privacy. No personal identifiers are attached to analytics events.
Marketing cookies: We currently do not use any marketing or advertising cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
Google Fonts may set a cookie as part of font delivery. This is a standard browser request and contains no personal data beyond your IP address and browser headers, which Google processes under their own Privacy Policy.
4. Managing your preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time via Settings > Privacy > Analytics cookies. You can also clear cookies via your browser settings, though this will log you out of Tova.
